We believe that adventure isn't measured in air miles alone. Sometimes the greatest journeys are the ones that end where they began (see: The Hut, Back Garden).

Turning 50 the Storers Way: Up a Mountain

To celebrate their 50th birthdays in appropriate style, Matt and Christie chose the time-honored tradition of... climbing the highest mountain in Wales. Because nothing says "welcome to middle age" quite like 1,085 metres of vertical ascent.

Our North Wales birthday tour encompassed the full spectrum of Welsh natural beauty: the dramatic peak of Snowdon, the thundering waters of Aber Falls, the island paradise of Anglesey, and the historic castle town of Beaumaris. Some people get cards and cake. We got summit views and leg cramps.

But let's be honest—any celebration that includes both medieval castles and waterfall photo opportunities is objectively the correct way to turn 50.
