At a commanding elevation of 243 metres, Dunstable Downs offers the kind of sweeping vistas typically associated with far more exotic locations—proving once again that extraordinary adventures don't always require passport control.

This joint Storers-Rochford expedition explored one of England's most important Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where hang gliders soar, kites fly, and visitors discover that Bedfordshire has been holding out on them this entire time. The Downs provided the perfect setting for what can only be described as a masterclass in appreciating what's on your doorstep (or reasonably close to it).
